Is summer really over?

I can't believe it's the end of August! What happened to spending all summer napping, catching up on books, and taking a babymoon with my Ry Ry? I only read 1 book this summer, and probably only took 2 naps, and never had time (or money) for a babymoon! Now I'm back in school, which means I'll never get the chance to do any of those things again...ever! haha okay maybe I'm being a bit dramatic, but seriously, I only have 7 weeks of school, then 4 weeks after that our baby will be making her appearance.  And of course, now that I'm back in school all I want to do is nap. It could also be the fact that I'm in my 3rd trimester and starting to get that tiredness back that everyone talks about. But I can't complain too much. This semester we're doing our clinicals on the pediatric floor, and I'm really excited about it. For once, our skills consist of things that come natural to me, like swaddling, burping, changing babies. But I get to have lots more practice before baby brown is here. Well let me update our lives this last month with pictures...

My wonderful best friend Denene got married! She is now Mrs. Trevor Brunner! I had the privilege to be her maid-of-honor, and what a privilege it was to witness that beautiful wedding! So happy for the newlyweds! Also, our other best friend Tahnee came to town from Texas for the wedding, and last time I saw her she was 38 weeks pregnant. Now she has this beautiful baby girl Lila and it's so fun seeing her be a mommy. Can't wait for our little girls to be pen pals! :)

Isn't Denene the most beautiful bride?

Kids, kids, and more kids!

I've also had a great time babysitting a couple sweet of girls named Makenzie and Kylie a few days this summer. I was their nanny last year and haven't really spent a lot of time with them since so I've been having a blast with them these last couple of weeks. They are adorable, and they kick my butt at card games!

I also get to visit James and Samantha here and there. I was their nanny for 2 years and feel like they're my own! Samantha never gets tired of rubbing my belly. And James, well he's still my little man! I can't believe I used to change his poopy diapers, and now he's going into 1st grade!

Some other awesome kids in our lives are Clark and Rebekah, my little cousins. Just about every time I call their house, they ask "when can we come spend the night?" They LOVE Ryan!! They would probably prefer it if I had to go to work while Ryan stayed and played with them all day! :) It's really cute to see him play with them. He's going to make a really good daddy!

One of the main things I've been looking forward to all summer is Lake Powell! Now it's come and gone just like summer. And yes, I managed to stay away from cliff jumping and water skiing..but I'll be back at it next year!  We had a great time with the Brown's. Here is a preview of our houseboat adventures.

We had my brother-in-law take a few maternity type pics for us too. Thanks John! :)

So that's what we've been up to the last few weeks. I'm now 29 weeks, and am still enjoying being pregnant, for the most part. There are a few things I am ready to have gone, and one of those is this very lame HEARTBURN! I've never experienced heartburn until the last couple of months, but man I don't know how people live with it. Some people say that means our baby will have hair, so we'll see if that old wives tale rings true for us. We had another ultrasound last week to measure baby girl, and the tech said she is measuring up to 9 days ahead! That could mean that she might be a little big, but that's just more to love, right? :) I am a little nervous about how extremely active this little girl is. I've heard some say "active in the womb means active outside the womb." I am constantly watching my stomach twitch and make funny shapes, and now I can actually feel her little body parts. Such a crazy feeling and I'm enjoying every minute of it! I think Ryan gets tired of me saying "come see this, come feel this" etc, because I literally am saying it all day long! I have another appointment with my midwife tomorrow, so if there is anything to update, I'll let you know! Thanks for checking in! :)
