Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation leans on the doorbell.

apparently blogging is even harder to keep up with than journal writing - at least for me. i have been itching to write in my journal for the last couple of months, but i dread the 2 hours it'll take me to catch up on everything. so where do i start?

first off, one week from today ryan will officially be an educated man. that's right, he's graduating! it's been 7 years since we started dating. and 6 of those years ryan has been in school. life has already been pretty good to us, and it's going to get a lot better - for a short while that is.

 may 2004

some other great news, i finally got in to nursing school! i'll be starting at golden west this fall. this is the opportunity i've been waiting for - all the while my motherly instincts are telling me babies are way more fun than textbooks. and i'm sure this is correct. however, our babies will be waiting in heaven just a little while longer. i just don't want them to get too comfortable up there :)

so while ryan has been slaving away at work and school everyday, i've been loving my job (if you can even call it that) being a nanny! being with these wonderful kids everyday makes me happy i didn't get in to nursing school sooner.

isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen? raine and james - my two favorite little guys

james and i have really become the best of friends. i love him so much - and i'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me. i am so grateful i've been able to babysit him these last couple of years, and it will be very hard for me to move on.

raine is also a pretty amazing kid. a couple weeks ago i was sitting in church and i hear the familiar voice a few rows behind me, "hah...masson!" and i turn and see him pointing to me. he really knows how to melt my heart. he turned 2 last month and it has been so fun watching him grow into a little man. my beautiful sister has done a great job being a mommy.
another thing i've been doing lately, and i mean ALOT of lately...

          diaper clutch

that's right...the sewing machine has been brought out of storage and put to some good use lately. i can't tell you how many baby showers i've been to in the last few months, but it's been a lot. it's been fun watching so many friends experience motherhood, and it makes me very excited for my turn. one of these days i'll really test my craftiness and make myself something pretty. that'll be another day.

ryan and i have also been enjoying being around our family. i probably said this before, but we are both so lucky to have married into the families we did. we recently moved in with ryan's parents, for a little while, and it has been great (hopefully his parents would say the same). we try our best to do our part around the house, although it's tough when we're both gone so much. his parents are so great to take us in for a while.

my parents have also been making their monthly trips here. i can't tell you how much i've missed them, and really love having them come visit.

ryan and i have some fun things planned this summer, including a mexican riviera cruise next week! for now, the hubby is nudging me to go to sleep. stay tuned!
